Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) laid out his plans for legalization of recreational Marijuana in New York State on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Cuomo has stated that legalization initiatives in nearby states Massachusetts and New Jersey have prompted his office to prioritize the initiative. Study Shows Alcohol Sales Drop In Cannabis States

According to a recent joint study alcohol consumption in US states where medical marijuana is legal has been dropped significantly. The study compared to quantity of alcohol sold in states that had no medical marijuana laws versus states that did have medical marijuana laws. Over the course of 10 years the study showed that in the states where medical marijuana was legal alcohol consumption decreased by 15%. Tennessee Lawmakers To Introduce Medical Marijuana Bill

Lawmakers in Tennessee are planning to introduce a bill to legalize medicinal marijuana. After a wave of pro-cannabis governors were elected during the mid-term elections, a host of new states are poised to legalize cannabis in 2019.
